    CS 306ci-CS456ci hash marks

    Hello guys

Getting hash marks around the circumference of the black drums. firmware up to date, Sim 100 has been change for aging from 0 to 1. New style drums installed. tech support has no more ideas and have sent e-mail to our regional tech rep.

Anyone one found out how to correct this yet?

    Thanks

First, agree with Sparkycivic, what do they look like? Second, do they occur on a machine generated page such as a status page? Have you swapped the main charge with one of the other colors [yellow would be a good choice], drums and charge units are all the same regardless of the color. Without seeing what the "hash" marks look like, this would be a good starting point.

This is an ongoing problem for us also, seems to only happen to the black drum, have done all recommended things from kyocera and we still get the hash marks, i would love to know if anyone has found a solution also, did 3 calls in the last 2 days with those marks, sometimes replacing the drum with new style helps other times it doesn't ,they seem to reappear within 10-15 k copies

I have seen this also. Some times you can clean the markes from the drum others have to be replaced.

Yes, the updated drums & U100 change fixes some, but not all. IMO it's wax build up from the toner. I think that will be the next change.
The M6535cidn line has the same issue, with the black drum.
            Hope that helps !

We have several of these machines doing this as well. So far it's only been on the black drums. We don't have any 406ci machines in the field. Are these also experiencing this issue? It sounds like the drums are back ordered until mid November - which is usually the sign of widespread problem. I could be wrong, but I thought the 406ci machines used the higher quality ceramic drums Kyocera is known for, the other models do not. If the 406ci is immune to this issue, perhaps the fix is manufacturing the black drums for the other models using the ceramic drum.

You're correct, it seems to be the OPC drums only having the issue. Same with the M6535cidn line, it uses OPC as well.

302R493053 is the number for the new drum unit coming out. They changed the blade on this one.
