KM2050 Adjusting the L parameter

I have a client that wants to expand the border of his printing. He wants the borders reduced to its absolute minimal (He requires full page coverage)

I checked out some docs, but the numerical values dont make any sense...

Has any body done this before?

Okay, i worked it out.

you default firmware parameters are as follows.

L1 - 00
L2 - 15
L3 - 00
L4 - 36
L5 - 10
L6 - 61
L7 - 08
L8 - 11

the parameters that need to be changed are

L1 - 00
L2 - 10
L3 - 00
L4 - 31
L5 - 10
L6 - 74
L7 - 08
L8 - 18

We have all had it some time, "well the machines always done it" when you say to the customer you can't do this or that.

That is true... i did bring that up in discussion. The guys were ok with it. I just made it clear that you are going outside of the standard spec of the machine, and we cant guarantee the quality/reliability of the machine, but if something like that does occur, we can assess the situation and discuss the next move, whether to bill the client or whatever the case is.

Been there, done that.....

This is one thing that just I don't do. As banginbishop says, it's guaranteed fuser jamming, especially if there's any fill along the leading edge.

My answer usually starts with "It's that way for a reason. You won't like the resulting jamming.......".

My bet is you end up restoring the original settings within a month. I've been there, done that. =^..^=

Its not something that i would recommend... but if a client asks and the client has a couple of machines, then you aint gonna worry about the finer detail. You just gonna help the client.
