copystar 255c doc feed quality issue

prints fine -copies off glass great, run through doc feed and it's either gray background or blank or perfect copy. happened overnight. had large power outages/ ice storms over weekend. it's electrical i would guess but i was wondering if anyone has had similar issues? where would you start? i ran 30+ copies through doc feed when i stopped this morning with nothing consistent. thanks---tuey

Make sure the scanner lock is not locked.

I'll confirm that. It's very easy on a Hanabi to move the machine a little and partially latch the scanner lock. It's that innocuous looking off-white lever at the left top rear corner. It's worth a look. I've done it to myself. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had one of these that would randomly cause a grey line only thru the DP. Finally sat there and just ran the scanner back and forth in the service mode and one of the LEDs would flicker for a few seconds. I think I've had two do this so that is something to keep in mind for the future as well.
