    C2500 error

Good day all. Customer's TA 5052CI can print from cassette 1 and 2 intermittently but paper z folds and jams in fuser unit and errors out. From cassette 3 and 4 jams in fuser unit and also errors out. Replaced feed drive unit, fuser motor, fuser unit, exit unit, feed image pwb and engine board. Updated to latest firmware as well. Problem still exists. Any ideas?

I would have put my money on the feed drive PWB + firmware. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

When the Z fold happens , does the leading edge of the paper make it out of the fuser and by how much? Or does it jam at the entrance and never makes it through the fuser nip?

          Re: C2500 error

Have you pulled an event report in service mode? Are there any jam codes displayed either on the screen or in the event report or do you just get the C2500? With everything you have replaced the C2500 code should have been resolved. There are several reflective optical sensors in the conveying path that can get coated with paper dust providing false indications to the machine. Don't forget to clean the areas opposite the sensors as the paper dust accumulats there as well and can provide enough reflection to make the machine think there is paper there.

i don`t know the fix from the other technicians, but i my case it was a drive problem inside from conveying unit.

You mean right cover conveying unit?

Have had 1 case with 1 broken clutch in parts right cover assy.
Check all 3 clutches and drive belts

Thanks for the tips KYO. To be an old fart, I am currently really overworked but I'll try to dig some time
in the next few days to get to visit the customer before they get totally mad. I let you know how this ends, sooner or later.

In my case too it was waste of time and money, I even replace the reg.clutch same time, was a little bit rusty.
Replacing whole right door unit, easy but expensive, especially if the fault is not there...
