    I Love Kyocera

Finally got to work on a 7052ci. Kyocera seems to be the only brand that listens to techs and improves ease of work accordingly. The "waste system" in front of the drum now slides out on rails and lifts up without any screws. Previous models needed the toners out, the waste bottle tray out, 4-6 screws, connector just to access the drums. How many times did we tear all that apart just to find a speck on the charge roller was causing a repeating dot and have to tear it all apart again.

Not to mention now all the trays lift off, rollers on clips. But if anyone in Japan listening, make the ADF belt/pickup a single unit!.

    /Praise.

There is constant tendency in ALL manufacturers towards tech-less machines.
I would stick to 2 screws and 1 connector instead of green/blue handle for drum removing for example.
I didn't want they make machines 90% user maintaining like more A4 models.
Machine that didn't require screwdriver for maintenance will be lonesome end for us techs.

    Just my 2 cents.
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Kyocera machines have the best warranty in the business. It's a shame you have to use it so much.

So far on the 7052 I have had a high voltage board and a main board fail. Not an auspicious start for me.

The Ricoh SP4520 and MP501 both rebadged Kyocera are the worst POS I have had to work in.

I was suspicious of the Hanabi when it first came out. There definitely are drawbacks to customer removable, finger-latch assemblies. On the Sharp Tigers it was very common for the customer to call, that the toner cartridge didn't fit, that we'd sent the wrong cartridge, only to discover that the developing unit was missing, thrown away. I fished one out of a dumpster once. On machines like this a customer that isn't afraid to try something can do a lot of damage. I'm kinda fond of the screws. It keeps curious fingers out of the works. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I did a google search and looked at the sp 4520 and the mp 501. They are not Kyocera machines.

The SP4520 has an op panel that is very similar to the Kyoceras, but the engine is totally different. I can see how you would think that it's a Kyocera, but I don't think so.

The MP501 clearly is a rebadged Kyocera. There is no doubt. =^..^=

What other brand has 1 or 2 screws to take off back cover?

They may be behind but my point was they're always moving in the right direction. IMHO.

Sharp makes advances but then steps backwards with their feed rollers, for example.

Kyocera improved a lot in the area of design and technology. But lacking in terms of reliability.
The latest machines are very good in terms of quality . But lacking in low quality Body design . Earlier Kyocera Mita was well known for its strong Body design. particularly lower end machines.(KM2050-2530-4050) The day to day usage of doors and document processors are unavoidable . but these new series are not at all reliable to users. The broken DP base and side doors are best examples.

As a tech i am love kyocera for its spillage free imaging area and Long life Drum units.
