Any one have a problem with a 8001i not detecting the original size from the glass? When i put an 8 1/2x11 on the glass it says that its 11x17. I have tried a size sensor and u099 size calibration. Neither has worked. Thanks in advance!

Re: Original size detect
Check the sensor on the white reference strip of the document processor. You can check it in maintenance mode 31 or 32. I have had the sensor come out of place and I have seen the actuator on the white reference strip broke. Sounds like the machine does not know that the DP is closed. You can also leave the DP open just a little and it will probably work fine, but if you close it completely, it reverts back to 11x17. -
Re: Original size detect
Per chance are there any marks on the original plate or pen marks on the glass that is throwing off the size sensor? I know it is a stretch, but if you have already replaced the size detection sensor and run U099 it could be worth a look. Reducing values in U099 from the defaults could actually cause the unit to detect the plate as being an original and causing your problem. Hope this helps.Comment

Re: Original size detect
Thats what I was thinking. I noticed that if I push the switch that the document processor activates when closing it says 11 x 17 with no paper present. The sensors shouldn't see anything looking into the sky.Comment

Re: Original size detect
If you do change the scanner board, you'll also need the CCD calibration charts. The color table is stored there. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
