3rd time so far. 3 separate customers with new type round bottle toners. Install toner bottle upside down with grey slide area facing up and stuffs it into fresh toner area. This is after all customers get full training including toner install. Some just don't care. It rips the foam on the toner hopper in the rear and shoves the foam over the hole and stops the toner from falling in. Even after it's put in correct. Brand New machines. Major pita to replace toner hopper assembly. Have to order whole unit not just new foam. 3 hour billable job. Throws a c-7301 code. Anyone seen this yet?

Re: Customer stuffs toner bottle in upside down
No ... but we get plenty of calls asking how to get the hopper open when it says "Toner Low". They just don't get it. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Customer stuffs toner bottle in upside down
Some customers get overwhelmed very easily! Figuring out what to do with the waste bottle or someone threw it away and now they don't have one. Mad now because they say machine is broken. Putting full new toners into the waste slot too confused why machine still asking for toner. Seen it all. They need to design the new toner entry point like a kid size toy block set. You know the ones with different shapes? That would not let they try to stuff the bottle in upside down. Just match the nozzle shape or it won't go. Or maybe a coloring book too! LolComment

Re: Customer stuffs toner bottle in upside down
I've had one that put the bottles in upside down and had to replace waste and toner hopper parts. Not a quick job but no worse than the 400Ci developer drive couplers falling out.Comment

Re: Customer stuffs toner bottle in upside down
Re-using the empty black toner as a waste bottle nice idea but in practice not a good idea customers get confused easily!Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Re: Customer stuffs toner bottle in upside down
Yep we had this once. Customer had replaced the toner at least 5 or 6 times before, but this one time they kept shoving it in wrong, taking it out, repeat. Also had to replace the BK dev unit as a piece of the foam must have migrated through the hopper to the Developer and made it seize up.
The color toner slots are designed so you cannot put it in upside down....I'm not sure why the black toner slot couldn't have been designed like that.Comment

Customer training and talking about how Kyocera is being eco friendly by not throwing toner away and reducing land fill waste, has been working for us.Comment
