Black is not Fusing sometimes. The First pic is the test chart with only black and is just fine. The Next one is B&W test chart copied in full color. The next pic is toner curve B&W and the next is the color test chart copied in color. (You can see where Black is not fusing) I reset factory defaults. I changed fuser and the heater. The toner that is in the machine is the OEM I sold them.Just when I think I have these machines figured out then this occures. Thanks so much for any help !!

Doug, probably just a media type setting. I don't know what gsm weight paper you are using, but if it is anything above 20lb (76 gsm) then it should be set for "Normal 3" I believe it is for whatever paper type you have set. If you are running it as plain paper, then go into the media setting and set "Plain" for "Normal 3". If the paper is heavier than 106 gsm then you will need to set it to an even higher setting. -
Re: TA 5551ci Black not fusing when copying w/ other colors
The reason that you see it on composite black is because to can have considerably more toner than 100% fill when black is composed of four colors.
Don't just look at what media type is selected. On Kyoceras each media type can be individually changed hotter or colder, so if somebody has been fiddling with it, it could be set to anything.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Blackcat is correct. It's usually the larger areas that are process black that don't get fused. It's essentially 400% coverage. You can run it as thick, if it needs to be duplexed or cardstock. Anything to get it to run slower than rated speed for 20# will usually resolve it.Comment
