    Kyocera TaskAlfa 5550ci - C6930 error

Fuser edge fan motor 2 error
When the fuser edge fan motor 2 is driven, alarm signal is detected for 5 s continuously.
Defective connector cable or poor contact in the connector.
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the connector cable. If none, Fuser edge fan motor 2 and fuser PWB (YC2)
Fuser PWB (YC1) and engine PWB (YC26)
Defective fuser edge fan motor 2. Replace fuser edge fan motor 2.
Defective engine PWB. Replace the engine PWB and check for correct operation (see page 1-5-54).

Does anybody have bulletin for this error?

I changed 302LC94320 PARTS FAN COOLING 50 SP - 2 pieces and nothing happened.

Any ideas - try to change engine PWB ?

Before replacing the engine PWB, try upgrading the firmware. Also, did you run U037 to see if the fan motor comes on? If not, replace the fan motor and make sure you check the wiring.

      Re: Kyocera TaskAlfa 5550ci - C6930 error

Before you do that, put your meter on the fan leads, then test FURFM in U037 > Fuser Cooling. You should get 24vdc across the leads with the fan turned ON. If there is no voltage at the fan, track that signal back to Engine PWB: YC26 A8 to A9. Also check the Alarm signal Engine PWB: YC26 A7 to frame ground, changes 0 to 3.3vdc. Meter out the harness.

That should keep you busy for a while. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

U037 - Fuser Cooling Fuser rear fan motor (FURFM) is turned on - NOTHING TURNED ON
I tried changing 2 pieces of fans - nothing happened (still C6930)

I tried to upgrade firmware and check the wires - thank you

Please BlackCat I am crazy of this fan location.
Where is the correct fan location in picture attached?
The service manual says:"Fuser edge fan motor 2" and in which side must I go to disasembly (from the rear, front or side way)?

You can see in the diagram that Item 37 (fan) is connected to a cooling duct that comes out on the upper rear of the machine. You can't miss it. Trace the air duct back to the fan.

But as you said - No. 13!
BillyCarpenter: OK I will trace the air duct (No. 37)

#13 is connected to an air duct also that comes out on the upper rear side of the copier. Look for the two air filters on the top of the rear of the copier. You'll see it.
