Re: Kyocera ci problem
Yes, I'm aware of that and I did cycle the machine. I'm not sure what was going on with the machine but NOTHING worked until I ran U021 and it was like magic.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

Re: Kyocera ci problem
Most likely iclink would not work if the card was frozen.
KYOCERA Nic cards very rarely fail.
Usually it's a lighting strike.Comment

Re: Kyocera ci problem
Thanks to a little help (he basically held my hand and walked me through it.) from blackcat I sent my first prescribe command and it worked.
Side Note: In my head I had built up Prescribe as the 500lb. guerilla in the room but that couldn't be further from the truth. As long as you use the LPR Jar method, enable Java and save the command in notepad as a txt document, you're golden.
Thanks for all your help blackcat. Much appreciated.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

You can also really really screw up a machine should you start playing with margins etc...
99.99 never adjust unless Hotline or Tech rep tells you.
The problem is elsewhere. IE clutch etc...
You can also do some special features
as we replaced a dot matrix printer
we set it up to make copies 4 copies using 4 different paper trays. Pretty coolComment

Re: Kyocera ci problem
You can also type in direct in iclink.

That does sound pretty cool. Now that I know how to use prescribe, I'll keep learning how to do more stuff. This is one of those things that might not be needed often but when you need it, you really need it. I really needed it yesterday before I ran U021. lolAdversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

Re: Kyocera ci problem
Only have use iclink a handful of times in the past.
Older Kyocera models you could change some parameters through the web page.Comment

He also mentioned that I can send a data capture to the printer and it will print without a print driver. That's next on the list.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

Re: Kyocera ci problem
If you have a Kyocera printer in the office to play with, you'll find a few data captures in the folder with the utility.
I did throw in an excess of detail ... like usual. One last comment: Don't get creative with the command syntax. An extra period or an extra space will screw up the whole thing. Keep it simple.
Congratulations on your success. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
