[Error Code] M6035 Non Genuine Toner Message!!

I have a machine at a customers that has started to show the message that Non genuine Toners are fitted to the machine and the customer has to press Next and then Accept to get the machine to work. But we do use genuine toners and there are definately genuine toners in the machine. I took a new set with me from our stock room and fitted them and the same message appears. More interestingly when you check the toner levels, the yellow toner is the only one showing? I have attached some photos showing the error message and the genuine toners fitted and have updated the firmware but its still happening.

    Anyone seen this?

One of our techs claims to have fixed this by reseating the cables to a small PWB on the left side of the machine. I consider it just as likely that the bulletin is the real cause, and just reseating the toner cartridges may restore the connection temporarily.

Check the toner chip contacts as already mentioned & update the firmware there are a lot of bug fixes on this model, this maybe one of them.

Also on Ricoh if the customer gets a low or empty toner message & they remove & shake the toner bottle when they fir it back you will get a 'non genuine toner' message because the machine assumes you have refilled it.

I try to tell endusers that there is no point in shaking an empty toner cartridge ... it's still empty, but all they remember is the AIO HP printer cartridges that you could shake to release a few more grains of monocomponent toner ... maybe 25 more prints.

Yeah very true however if you look at the customers box of empties most often there is still a small amount of toner left in each bottle.

VERY tempting to suggest to the customer they may be able to combine all that "extra" toner left in those cartridges into one and get a full cartridge out of them? (I would NEVER do anything like that.)

Shaking the empty toner cartridge is the equivalent to slapping the (analog) TV when the picture gets fuzzy.

I can't count the many times my Mom or Grandma would have us kids slap the TV to get rid of the fuzzy picture and most of the time it worked.

We had this issue on a different model Kyocera and it was the engine board.
