    [Misc] Roller Cleaning

    Hello Everyone,

I've found multiple posts about roller cleaning, but the newest one that I found was from 2015. I'm wondering if I can get some updated suggestions on what to use to clean the grey rubber rollers on Kyocera MFPs. I know that alcohol will damage, them, and I've seen water used, but does it matter whether it is tap water, distilled water, etc.?

    Thank You for your help.

Is that just a type, or the brand name?

Anything they removes the white paper pulp & turns them grey again

However they cost peanuts so simply replace with new.

What type of rubber rollers are we talking about?

In that case, I agree with copier tech, just replace them. If you need to clean and alcohol is damaging them, I'd suggest diluting with distilled water - 50/50.

Where would everyone suggest that I order them from? I'm probably going to have to use a source that will take a PO. I'm new to this schools system, so I'm not sure on all of the policies, when it comes to ordering supplies.

WD-40 is a good temporary fix and is easy to find...you will need to replace the rollers eventually though like when using rubber rejuvenator

Yes I use WD-40 on ALL rollers works a treat for me.

Now I KNOW others will disagree.......

As far as I'm concerned it's the only good use for WD40, but only on rollers that are mostly beyond saving. For rollers with a little life remaining I use an orange oil based cleaner like:

Never thought to use WD40, but it is an amazing cleaner. In fact, it's what it's best at. Gets used thoroughly when cleaning my motorbike, and dirt and grease just drop right off.
