Need to get some opinions on the comfortable max monthly duty cycle on a M3540idn. I have a client that was asking for a tabletop model, they are estimating around 15,000 +/- prints per month. I feel they would be better suited to an A3 model. I feel the max on the A4 models should be 5,000 pages or under.

15k seems extremely high for a tabletop model. I'm with you on the A3.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

Re: M3540idn comfortable max monthly duty cycle?
Here's some food for thought:
A co-worker of mine went out to PM an ECOSYS M6535cidn, and discovered that it had done the entire PM cycle in three months, without a since service issue, and perfect image quality upon arrival (... as perfect as it gets, i mean to say).
So maybe some of those pie-in-the-sky, crazy monthly yields may be that high for a reason. Perhaps these tabletop machines don't run for shit at 1000 copies a month, but cruise right a long at 100K per month. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think you can get about 30k on the feed tires. You'd be changing them every other month.Comment

Re: M3540idn comfortable max monthly duty cycle?
I have a couple of m3540 and 3550idn running on pharmacies with an extra tray unit. They print on average 8k pages from 1 tray and around 2k from the second tray ( they print labels for)
Only trouble I have encountered is charge rollers don't last very long if customers turn off the heat at night.....
Heater is a little involved to replace, everything else very easy to get to.
