    [Error Code] Taskalfa 300ci throwing a C2700

    I originally was put on this call for horrible print quality. The cyan is coming out at consistent half tones and the magenta coloration is correct but the front third of the page is blank folowed by the 2/3 towards the tail fade into full coloration. I swapped the cyan DV because I did not originally notice the magenta issue. This fixed nothing. I contacted Tech Support and they suggested that it may be the drums or transfer unit. I attempted to swap the cyan and magenta drums and it started coding. I put them back into their original position but the code remained. I checked the Color Release gears and the teeth are fine and they spin with no issue. I checked that YC28 plug on the board and it is properly seated.

    The C2700 code is specified towards the Color Release motor but I'm thinking that the transfer unit being swapped may alleviate this issue. Any tips?

    Thanks

      300ci (Saturn series), long long time ago
      We have had several cases in past because of faulty motor inside from belt, but in your case i think it`s related to bad connection.
      Before you are able to swap the drums, you has to lift up or remove the belt.
      Did you maybe unplugged the belt connector?
      If yet, check the pins inside from connector at the rear frame.
      connector from belt wiring---> female
      connector at the frame----> male
      At Saturn series, it was possible to turn on the motors during existing C-Call.
      Enter U030 and try CRM motor.

        Thanks!

        What it ended up being was one of the grounding springs from the high voltage board that grounds the transfer belt. Somehow, it had come out of place during "normal" use by the customer. Once we realized that, I pulled the board and reseated the grounding spring. This cleared up that issue instantly.

          I forgot to mention that I did adjust the pins in the connector and that cleared the code but did not fix my color quality issues. What I stated before was the fix for that.

            I seem to recall dislodging one of the transfer charge spring contacts when inserting the transfer belt unit on a Saturn. It added 90 minutes to my call, pulling the back apart and removing the HVT, to re-position the spring contact. After that incident I always inserted the transfer belt gingerly.

            Sorry, I don't remember the symptom. I think it was an error ... =^..^=
            If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              I accidentally bent a pin on the transfer belt connector and it was a pain in the ass to find and then repair.
