Want to delete/format Kyocera HD-6 SSD Board

    Dear guys.

We have several Kyocera machines with integrated SSD Boards HD-6.
We have to delete the SSDs with a erasing software.

The boards have a special S-ATA port and I cant find a adapter to connect this SSD boards to a computer.

Here you can find a picture:

Do anybody have a ideo how can i connect this SSDs to a copmuter?

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards, Paul

The 8gb SSD looks like PCIe NVME form factor. Try a PCIe adapter board for NVME SSD. Of course you will brick the machine probably when you format them externally. I believe that SSD has the boot partition. Let us know.

      Thanks for the reply.

I think it is a different form factor.
Attached is a pic of the SSD.

I think NVME looks like this? Or I am wrong??

I don't know why you are using a separate application to format the SSD. The machine has a built in function to accomplish this.
        Formatting an SSD
        1. [System Menu/Counter] key > [Common Settings] > [Format SSD]
        2. Format an optional SSD.
*: When an optional SSD is inserted into the main unit for the first time, it must be formatted before use.
Formatting will delete all existing data on an SSD.
*: This setting does not appear if the optional security kit is installed

Not an Normal NVME connection you are correct. The type of SSD still not identified though.

Seems unlikely to be SATA at 8gb what would be the point.

Mhmm and maybe run MM026 but I wanted to see what happened if he did it his way

Correct. This is an HD-6, an array of chips with a proprietary interface connector. I do not believe there are any adapters available for this connector.
I may be wrong but I haven't found any.

                Damn proprietary.....

Ya I didn't pay close enough attention to the HDD he was referring. Too early for posting here I suppose

The 8gb SSD is like mSata connector BTW but not this.

                  Okay.

                  Thanks guys.
I know that we could format it in the copier, but we need a erasing confirmation with the serial number of the hdd for our customer.
This is the point. So if there is no adapter we have to check it with the customer. Thank you very much.

I would have them pay for a new drive and hand them the old one.
                    Hope that helps !

You can run "Data Sanitization" by system menue.
After "complete" message you can choose print out sanitization report depended to the system.
The Data sanitization function will delete everything!
