    MA4000cifx Black bands

This is a new MA4000cifx with intermittent Black bars that are roughly the same size when they happen.

It looked like a loss of main charge to me. I switched the black drum with the yellow drum to see if the problem changed, it didn't.

I've only seen black bars, not colored even when doing full color prints. I don't think it has happened in full color mode though

I called Kyocera and the suggestion was the high voltage unit 302YJ94130. I ordered one.

Just curious, did you try and use a loupe to check and see what is making that black band? Yes, it looks black, but there could be other colors making it up. Very strange though!

There is only K in the posted sample, but it might be a monochrome scan. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That sure looks similar to the 7003 with a damaged drum and transfer belt.

            Thanks for the replies.

I replaced the High Voltage board, did not fix the problem.

My co worker inspected the black areas and did not find any C, M, or Y colors.

I hadn't considered the transfer belt but I'm open to anything.

            I appreciate any troubleshooting ideas

On the 7003 you had to do the drum and belt as a pair. If you did just 1 the problem returned.

I called Kyocera and asked them to send us a replacement machine. They were nice enough to do that, it arrived today.

If anyone finds the solution to this problem I'm interested. I didn't want to buy any more parts so I never tried a new(er) transfer belt and drums.
