Utax 3206ci producing backgound copies after replacing black drum

Hi wondering if anyone had the same issue
Called to a utax 3206 this morning with routine maintenance A
Replaced the black drum and reset count calibrated and tested copier
the prints that came out had a really heavy back ground on the page
tried three different drums and all had the same problem background on copies
brought all three drums back to workshop and all working fine
put the old drum back in and copies 100%

If you didn't you should be sure to power the machine down and unplug it before removal and replacement. I usually won't go as far as unplugging but I always make sure the main power is off. On occasion I have had similar issues as you describe and shutting down, unplugging, replacing and power up does the trick. As I recall I had to put the old drum back in get it all calibrated then perform the afore mention procedure.
For what it's worth I hope this helps.

To be shure you can check U110 and U120 for correct counters.
If only one of both counters wouldn`t set to "0" you can get this problem and additional new dk needed, because you are not able to change DK eeprom values.
