Common issue with the early developer units. I just screw in a self tapping style screw down the side to hold it in.

I've also just taped a thick piece of paper/cardboard in the inside of that maintenance door that drops down, and it will keep it pressed in. Customers are never going in that door, so any mod you do won't ever be seen. Cheap design, per usual Kyocera. Definition of UNDER-engineered products.

Never underestimate customers. We have had them open that door, remove the developers and pour the dev into the bin. We now place a sticker on that door at run up “Do not open. Service techs only”

I usually take the spring off the dv and slide the dk in at the same time. Have had screw and other methods fail on me. remove spring quick and easy, plus no sight of a rig job.

On the earlier machines that had waste toner bottles, we had the customer pour that toner back in the machine. Took me a couple of dev changes until I was going to empty the waste bottle and they said "Wait" we pour that back in the machine to save money buying toner. Got Ya.
