Ta 6052ci scan color way off

After suppling a customer with a loaner Ta 6052ci, they have found that when scanning both from the adp and platen, the resulting colors are way off from the original, though when printing a report (status page) from the machine or when printing from computer the colors are spot on. I haven't found a similar issue mentioned in any forums. Check this out: left is a calibration page from machine, right is a platen scan.
Customers are a couple hours away, so wanted to get more info before heading out.

This might look familiar. Mine turned out to be a ISC PWB and calibration:

    Wanna see some cool copies?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I remember this but he said that his colors are off from the platen and doc feeder?

Thanks for that! A fellow tech is in the field and will visit the customer this afternoon. I sent him your link.
        Again, thank you!

That is what the customer stated, but I will know more this afternoon when another tech has had the opportunity to try a few things.

The one time I had a color problem when scanning from the doc. feeder but colors were fine from the glass, here's what I have in my notes.

            example of scan quality issue.pdf

            Notes:

Problem: Color background when scanning from DP but not from glass

Solution: It was a bad ISC PWB (ISCPWB). I replaced and all is working.

EDIT: Full disclosure - blackcat helped me solve this problem. Actually, he told me what the problem was. lol

Interesting...thanks for that Billy. I should know what is going on in an hour or two. I'll post back with results from our tech in the field.

I also remember having an interesting conversation with blackcat about the internal color table of a copier. It's been a while and my memory is kinda foggy. I think somehow the table gets jumbled but I could be totally off base here.

Not much but color theory is a bugger much less where and how it takes place in each manufacturers machines, but for Kyocera the color tables are to modify the print output and do not effect scanning. However they work in the same place which is the colorspace of the device and it's gamut.

Think of it as a 3 dimensional representation of color where the size and shape represents how many colors the device can reproduce.

In scanning, we have to convert RGB to CMYK using LAB value adjustments. These are set in the U425 Calibration using the 7505000005 chart which has LAB reference values for it's patches so the machine can build it's colorspace to accurately represent colors.

This defect is interesting because the color conversion is regular, not random.

If it had a dual scan feeder he should have ran the CIS to see if the error is limited to Scanner/CCD or for both involves downstream processing.

Scanner sliders can wear/break causing CCD misalignment, I even saw one from the factory which was missing them

Very interesting. Because I'm not an authorized Kyocera dealer, I don't have access to this type of information, so any type of information that I can glean from you guys is great. I love talking theory and getting down in the weeds.
