intermittent calibration marks on copies Utax 5006ci

Hi Anyone any idea how to solve the problem of intermittent calibration marks on primary transfer belt
replacing the belt solves the problem but would really like to repair the old belts as they are expensive to replace
    Thanks in advance

Is the cleaning unit working on the Transfer Belt?
Nothing caught under the felt before the Transfer Belt Cleaning unit?
That's the first place to look.

What is the maintenance count on the transfer belt and Transfer belt Cleaner?

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

The blade on the belt has flipped. I had this on a 3253 a few months ago. We had a 5003 that also had a flipped blade that was throwing [C2840 Belt cleaning motor error]. You can set the belt on the counter and ontop of the cleaning unit is a little cover you can pry off with your flat blade. There is 2 screws holding the blade and it pops out pretty easy but the blade ended up flipping again. I guess if you have some 600k belts you could swap the blades around.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Hi guys thanks for the suggestions have had this problem on numerous belt all no where near end of life some only with 100k
Have stripped cleaner units and all clean no blade flips or any thing unusual about them
whats baffling me is it only leaves faint calibration marks and seems to clean the rest of the belt perfectly

If you disassemble the transfer belt assembly for cleaning, make absolutely sure that you re-install every spring. Those springs provide electrical connections.

I did quite a lot of head scratching after one such incident. Only one spring left over ... but an important one. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had a case with a TA6551ci with the same thing. A new ITB unit would fix it for a few months and fail again. It turned out to be the low voltage power supply PWB. The cleaning bias voltage was slightly below specified voltage and would get the job done with a fresh new belt, but with a little wear it would not.
              FWIW I hope this helps.
As far as "fixing" one of these... if you can get a new belt and blade and are very patient, I suppose it could be done.

Try a new cleaning blade ( you can find not oem only)
