    [Error Code] Kyocera FS-4300DN Firmware - Errorcode F25E - MacOS 12

    Hello, everyone,
Yesterday I updated our Imacs to the new OS 12 version (macOS Montery). Since then I can no longer print from the imacs on some Kyocera printers (e.g. the FS4300 DN, currently installed firmware (2LV_3F00.014.012 - 2LV_1000.012.001). The spooler on the Imac says that it no longer receives the device via tcp / ip After a while the error code F25E appears in the printer. Before the Apple update, I was able to print without any problems. I have a remaining imac still running on OS 11. If I try to print from this operating system, it works without any problems when I print from Windows 10 pcs it works fine, so I can really narrow it down to the fact that it has to do with the latest version of Apple's operating system.
I suspect that the firmware is too old. Does anyone have a more recent version for the FS4300 that I could try? Or maybe someone has another tip?
I would be very happy about your support.
    Thanks!

I'd try installing the Kyocera KX driver before updating firmware. No doubt the generic mac driver is being used

Also try going in and turning ON the Auto Error Clear under the Timer setting. Sometimes this helps when corrupt data or drivers makes the print error out.

hey, the KX driver is a pure windows driver and cannot be installed on a mac.

            Update firmware to current:
            MAIN 2LV_3F00.017.222
            17.222

            ENGINE 2LV_1000.013.007
            013.007

F25E known issue with that version of firmware (9/2014) noted as corrected in (4/2015):
            MAIN
            2LV_3F00015016
            015.016

            ENGINE
            2LV_1000011002
            011.002

Correct driver is the MAC Phase 5.0 driver

Hi Printwhisperer, the problem is, we don't have access to the download server or anything else, can you provide the required firmware?

That would be great, we have massive problems in our company as a result.

I cannot provide firmware, I am sorry.

However the F25E code problem was exhibited for most devices and so if you have any other Kyoceras they may need updating as well if they are pre-2015.

You should contact a service provider with access to firmware to review all your devices. There are a couple of folks here who might have access if you know how to do firmware.

                    hi,

after update to CTRL: 2LV_3F00.017.222 and ENGN: 2LV-1000.013.007 the problem is still there.

We still can't print from our MAC's since the update to macOS Monterey

Print-queue: unable to get printer status.

from MAC's with BIG SUR and Windows.. we can print perfectly

Does somebody still have an idea?

"The latest" is not a version number and is always considered an invalid response.

Are you using LPR/LPD porting? Default Kyocera queue name is 'lp' (ell-pee) and ensure LPR/LPD is enabled on printer.

Have you set up the device in Print Panel?

High chance macOS version is the one causing the issues.
However, I would still try to switch between PDL (PCL, KPDL, PDF). It's all written in a manual attached with the driver installer.

MAC 5.3 Kyocera OS x 10.9+ 2021.10.06 ... is that the right driver?

Thanks for your understanding, an actual version number can be confirmed.

That is what is provided for the German public sight but the package is significantly smaller than the US distribution and has a different versioning. We are at 52.2021.03.23
I would recommend implementing the LPR porting rather than simple TCP port 9100 if that is your case. Using the correct queue name is key for LPR.

The Print Panel app associated with the driver package should have been installed, launch it and discover/check/set-up options for the printer there after installation.

BTW this extra app is the same model Microsoft is using for the V4 Print Architecture only they call it 'Printer Extension' and is required for setting User Print Preferences for features beyond the simple OS interface.
