Kyocera m6635cidn. Failed firmware update. Looks to be bricked.

    I have a Kyocera M6635cidn.

Attempted a firmware upgrade - used the SoftwareUpgradeTool application and the firmware file: FirmwareUpgradePackage_ECOSYS M6630cidn M6635cidn_v04.03.0020.fwp
Available on Kyocera's website: https://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.co.uk/en/support/downloads.name-L2diL2VuL21mcC9FQ09TWVNNNjYzNUNJRE4=.html#tab=appl ication

It looks like the update failed - ended with an error: Cannot verify the installed version.
I'm wondering if my laptop went to sleep mid-way through and lost network connectivity or something like that.

Restarted the printer. Goes through what sounds like a normal start up routine. Displays welcome on the screen for a bit, then the Ecosys logo and it doesn't go any further.
None of the buttons seem to do anything.
Can't ping it, Can't access its web admin page.
Unplugged it and left it off for a few minutes and tried again - same thing.

    Bugger. Looks to be bricked.

Is there a way to rescue a bricked Kyocera printer?
I see it has a USB port - can another attempt at loading firmware be made via USB? How does that work?
    Hoping someone can help.

Put the Firmware files directly into the root directory of an EMPTY FAT32 formatted USB stick. Make sure the machine is OFF, put the USB in the USB slot, then power up the device.

Your USB stick should look like this:
(I.e copy the contents of the "Firmware" folder directly to the stick, don't copy the entire folder, just the contents.)

      All sorted - Thank you.
A friendly person on Reddit sent me the correct firmware update files - the only file available on the Kyocera site wouldn't work via a USB stick.

Firmware update files loaded onto the root of a USB stick formatted in FAT32 format, inserted into the front USB slot did the tick.
Started up the printer, and it loaded the new firmware itself.

Thank you very much, Firmware update files loaded onto the root of a USB stick formatted in FAT32 format, inserted into the front USB slot did the job.
