    By default, the file name is set to include the date and time.
    I can't find the option to change the file name anywhere in the printer menus.

      System Menu->Send Functions->File Name Entry would be the usual place but I'm still not sure what (US) model you are on, so you'll need to find an Operation Guide on your own.

      I looked over the Wireshark again, and it has 3 tries which is typical for a Network scan attempt.

        There is no such option in the web settings of the machine.
        On the machine itself : Functions -> Enter file name entry ->
        -> None
        -> Data and time
        -> Job No.
        -> Job No. & data and time
        -> Data and time & Job No.
        I tried them all and the error is still the same.

          Well congratulations, I'm stumped. The device simply stops before issuing the SMB_Create_Request and there is no indication of why in the trace that I can see.

          You should attempt SMB scan to a Windows share (running wireshark) as a test on this machine. If it fails as well then the machine is suspect.

          SMB steps in the trace:
          SMB2 Negotiate - Attempted with success to dialect SMB 2.* (wildcard)
          SMB2 Session Setup - Attempted with success NTLMSSP Auth for WORKGROUP\Ivo (user), GSS token issued
          Tree Connect Request - Resolved to share \\172.18.4.44\123 with read write access. (123 sharename? Permitted but yuck)

          To proceed, the machine must send the SMB_Create_Request to open the share and negotiate the file transfer...but it never does and instead (within milliseconds) sends a Tree Disconnect and Session logoff.

          This indicates that the Send Operation is stopped by failure or intention in the machine programming at the point when it should create a file and send it. If it was an internal programming or hardware (memory) error I would expect some kind of System Error code.

          Load known good firmware.

            The problem is in the firmware of the machine. The bad thing is that I could not find any firmware to download. I looked at the UTAX website, triumph-adle, Kyocera and nothing. I also noticed that there was no field for uploading firmware in the web menu of the machine. A colleague will give me a Kyocera FS-3640MFP, from which I plan to download the firmware with a programmer and upload it to the problematic UTAX 6240.
            I plan to get both machines in the middle or end of next week and try them with the programmer.
            I will let you know if I have succeeded with the programmer.
            Thanks again for your time and suggestions.

              It occurs to me that if you can get to Maintenance Mode U265 you could set the code to 1 for Kyocera and get the equivalent model number. Then load Kyocera Branded firmware which should be available.

                I want to inform you that the problem is solved. I swore a lot more than I expected, but anyway. In a few words, I will tell you what an adventure it was to download the information from the two NANDs.
                The NANDs are M29W640FB and TC58NVG0S3ETA00. I know from a colleague who did the same procedure some time ago but with a Xerox, and that both NANDs need to be overwritten. I assume that it will be the same here. I removed the first NAND and connected it to the programmer. After a few minutes I had the information from it. So far so good. I put it back on the board and removed the second NAND. However, this one requires a different socket. Luckily for me, I have one. I change the socket, insert the NAND and start reading the chip. However, the program gives an error. I look at the details of the error and it turns out that I need to modify the programmer's socket in order to be able to read the NAND. The modification was to run one wire and change the capacitor and resistor. I did it and managed to read the nand. So far so good. I have the information from both nands and it's time to get the other two from the other board. I took them, overwrote them and put them back on the board. I attached the board to the machine and it was time to see if everything works. I turn on the machine and surprise Error: Call service 0180. I checked Google for the error and a clip came up to solve the error: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6788uNDMiU
                I did the same and MIRACLE. The machine started normally.
                I ran a test page and expected that the copies on both machines would be identical. It turned out that the machine had kept its number of copies. At that moment, some doubts about success began to appear. I put the test page in the ADF and let it scan with smb in a shared folder on Windows 7 and MIRACLE there was no error. I look in the shared folder and there was a pdf with the test page.
                Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm uploading some pictures of the process.

                    Although the amount of work you did is impressive, this machine was not worth it. I don't know how you value the work of one person, but for us, an hour of work is worth more than this machine in good working order.

                    Great job anyway!

                      So you....just...updated the firmware basically? I get that you copied yada, yada, yada, but just different firmware....right? You must be a tinkerer who loves to mess with any little thing you get your hands on... I would have just setup scanning to whatever device worked, email or folder and used it as a mini server until this ancient machine died.

                        I agree that the time I spent is much more than the value of the machine, even though the machine has about 30 - 40 thousand copies. For me, it is more important that I solved the problem and the customer is satisfied.

                        Yes, I just updated the firmware. It would be easier if I could download from the Kyocera, UTAX, Triumph-Adler website and upload the firmware to the machine and save myself all this headache.
                        Yes, I could connect the printer to scan through the computer with NAPS2 but then the ADF would be one-sided and the customer would have to walk from the computer to the printer several times to scan something. For me, this is not a solution and if I had done it, I probably would have lost this customer and probably many others.
                        There is a saying:
                        Anyone will take your money, the question is who will solve your problem.
                        To your other question: I do not try to repair everything I get my hands on.
