Latest version of Chrome - Can't access Web Browser

The IT guy called from one our accounts and said that a new version of chrome was released the other day and now he can't access the web browser. The machine is 3551ci.

    Anyone run into this problem?

I have a 3551ci here at the shop and the latest version of chrome. No issues. Works fine.

They have 3 of this model and none can access web browser.

SSL enabled - http or https? In any case I would try atleast Firefox or Edge to isolate browser issue from machine/client network issue.

    BTW:
Just remoted into my work PC and our KM has no problem openning with Chrome browser at latest version: Version 98.0.4758.82 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I forgot to mention that he said he could access the web browser with FireFox but not with the latest version of Chome. He said the previous version of Chrome worked fine.

I just recreated that exact scenario here at the shop by disabling TLS 1.2 and SHA 2 on the serverside settings.

Their IT guy won't be back in until Tuesday morning and I'm gonna meet him there. Will update ASAP.

      Thanks for your input.

I occasionally get an F24C when using Chrome on some machines. I just use a different browser. Never explored it any further.
        Hope that helps !

            hi
on the old machines, like FS6025mfp, i use only internet explorer.
If you use chrome the machines crash with an "F" error.

I have had this happen and fixed the problem by updating firmware.

                  Here's the rundown....

Customer complained that they couldn't access copier via webrowser upon the latest release of Chrome. They had to install firefox to access the copier.

Solution: Go to Network Security>Network Security Settings. Enable TLS 1.2. Enable Sha 1 & Sha 2.

I'm running into this problem at other places, too.

So the problem was TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 ?

Yes, the latest version of Chrome only works if TLS 1.2 is enabled on the serverside setting.

As a test I did disable TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 from our Konica. Result Edge and Chrome browsers stop working at all (no web connection), after using old IE in compability mode I enabled back TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 and everything went back as normal.

I've now run into this issue twice in the last week. The issue presented itself when using Chrome AND Edge. I used Internet Explorer to access the Command Center RX in both instances...THEN fixed the TLS Office 365 scan to email issue. LOL.

Both machines were 3051ci devices, for the record.

Re: Latest version of Chrome - Can't access Web Browser

TLS 1.0 and 1.1 were deprecated in Chrome 72 with a planned removal in Chrome 81 (in early 2020). Other browsers are also removing support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 at this time. Previously, we showed a deprecation warning in DevTools. In M-79, Chrome marked affected sites as "Not Secure". In M-84, Chrome will show a full page interstitial warning on sites that do not support TLS 1.2 or higher. In M-98, the error will no longer be bypassable.

                            Motivation
TLS 1.2 was published ten years ago to address weaknesses in TLS 1.0 and 1.1 and has enjoyed wide adoption since then. These old versions of TLS rely on MD5 and SHA-1, both now broken, and contain other flaws. TLS 1.0 is no longer PCI-DSS compliant and the TLS working group has adopted a document to deprecate TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1.

Chromium Blog: Chrome UI for Deprecating Legacy TLS Versions

The 3551ci doesn't support TLS 1.3. The highest version is 1.2. I still get a warning that the site isn't secure but the warning can still be bypassed.

Is this done at the PC or on the machine? I don't have a lot of experience with this but been running into this lately.
