    5054ci dark lower left corner

this machine originally had a C3800 error, and the lens corrected this issue. some weeks later i get a call saying that the lower left corner is dark from the glass only. I made several adjustments and ended up ordering another lens assy. after installation everything looked good no shading in the corner...until today. has anyone seen this and can share the fix .

I just ran into this EXACT issue last week, still hunting for a resolution though. I will post an update when I have one

Kyocera Tech support suggested, that if i had the original lens(which by chance i did) to remove the board from it, put the board from the new lens onto it, and reinstall the original lens with the new board. I just have done this and it appears to work, but the last one did for a few weeks.

Did you use the charts and calibrate it in U411 after replacing the lens unit ?
        Hope that helps !

I’ve had this when a machine has arrived damaged and the scanner assembly is no longer sitting flat on the frame. I found there is a wedge that adjusts the height of the scanner unit on the RHS. These units had been damaged. I replaced parts 2, 3 and 25 from a scrapped machine and it solved my problem.

The new ISU/Lens immediately produced this problem and after double and triple checking my ISU alignment I eventually swapped the new board into the old lens and the problem mostly went away (including the original C3800 error).

My coworker went out with a new ISU and cables and neither resolved the issue. It appears to me that the scanner isn't square and/or level but I haven't had a chance to go back out on the machine.

Absolutely, and it failed both the Auto and Manual adjustment methods.

This tracks with the symptoms, however this machine has been in the field for 2+ years without issue up until the recent Main PWB and now ISU failure. I will have to check this when I go back out 👍🏻

                  Someone copied their butt? 😂.
You may have success adjusting the sliding wedge. On mine I stripped off the scanner plastic covers and put a straight edge (long ruler) on LHS and RHS and sighting along the two the twist was obvious.

I haven't seen it on the 4 series, but the scanner belt being too tight caused a similar issue on the 2 series.
                    Hope that helps !

Did you scribe the frame before removing the original lens. I have a habit of this from the Ye Olden days. Mine was a 4 but on the frame it was closer to the 3 mark.

In most instances, yes, but in this instance, I did not
