Double check the rear door man... I'm telling you, its a door issue... this model has a history of this message & it always ends up being to have all closed up & then open rear door & close it.

P6235 my machines. Honestly I tried every door and the customer says was working then came up replace k toner so they opened top cover then wouldn't accept new toner.

I'll try and interlock the rear door just to see if message changes. What's strange is if you open top cover then close it the machine starts operating for 3 seconds then pops up replace k toner.

The thing about a "Replace toner" message is that if any other warnings or errors are present, the toner message covers them up so you can't see if something else is going on. Check the Command Center from a browser or Panel status if you have the machine on kfs to see if there is another problem going on.

I have had this more times than I care to remember, do the following:

            1. Take the chip off the toner cartridge

            2. Install the toner and let the machine get to ready state

            3. Take the toner back out and put the chip back on and re-insert the toner, it will now register as a full toner.

Tried it today take chip off machine says non genuine toner inserted asks for a random number to be pressed to confirm. You press key machine fires up motors turn then message appears replace k toner.

Went through each cover checking each switch all switches work. Tried a different Dev unit and engine board no difference. Totally stumped something is causing the machine to bum out straight away. Probably a wild goose chase but think I'll try main board, power supply, laser next.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

How does it know that it's not turning? I can't see any sensors you would think it would just work even if it's sticking.

No sensors for that. The toner sensor in the developing unit does not detect an increase in the developer density within a certain period of time. =^..^=

On mine it was the waste toner. My P6235 didn't have that pin type cam it had a cam on a spring but it's not part of the first add toner assembly on the side it's inside the machine on mine.

Customer had replaced waste toner and snapped the hook off so it went in enough that the waste toner door sensor would register but bottle wouldn't lock in. Why the machine doesn't say check waste toner bottle we'll never know but cheers for all the help I learned a lot stripping it down.

I just wanted to share that I encountered the same issue. My setup has all inks at 6%, and I recently installed a new black toner, which shows as 100%. Right after that, my toner C suddenly dropped to 6% and then showed as empty, preventing me from printing or bypassing the error. I also just replaced the waste ink container, which didn’t seem to be inserted correctly at first. Once I adjusted it, toner C was detected again and returned to 6%.

I finally got this Versalink C7000 squared away... Once I cleaned out the entire black toner feed system, I had to buy a new bk toner & installed it, and all is good again. works fine with no issues. Thanks for all your help & suggestions guys, MUCH APPRECIATED
