    M6526cdn yellow alignment issue

Client called with colors not aligning, we went out and the transfer belt was shredded so we replaced it, ran the alignment and calibration procedures, swapped out the yellow drum unit but the yellow alignment is still off. Any suggestions?

    Replaced with new one?

You can run color reg multiple times to get yellow back in place.

The drums were swapped with others in the mfp, I will try a new one, with this procedure.

I mean't if the transfer belt were new...
Problem should be related with transfer belt quality.

And have you cleaned calibration sensors?
And have you checked if the sensor cover moves when you close toner cover.

Yes, the belt is new out of the box. That usually fixes the issue. I cleaned the cali sensors but did not look to see if they move when closing the toner cover.

You may need the firmware to reset it back to default. When they get out of spec too far, you can't get them back with the adjustment only.
            Hope that helps !

              This bulletin may help.

                  Re: M6526cdn yellow alignment issue

After you get yellow back in place, you can check if automatic color reg works.

                  It is described in bulletin:
                  1. power off
                  2. open rear cover
                  3. hold down cover lock switch
                  4. power on machine
                  5. now observe if the calibration marks run once over transfer belt - its ok! if twice - not calibrating automatically... and some color may shift again in time.
