C6220: Edge thermistor high temperature error P4060dn

Hi all, we have been getting intermittent C6220 errors on a P4060dn printer , it only happens early in the morning, customers says it prints about 20-30 pages and then it throws C6220 error and a paper jam , once switched off and back on again it works perfectly. The first time it appeared was in Feb this year , printer had
129303 count, we have already swapped fusers, its done now 668284 prints and has had the first MK done. The error has been happening every month sometimes its good for a few months, service manual says to try the engine pwb followed by the

image feed pwb and then IH unit. I have tested edge fans . Also printer only prints on A4 and nothing else, they have 3 other printers which
use A4 and A5 paper and they all run perfectly fine. Just wondering has anyone seen this problem

If you have replaced the fuser unit with a new one try updating the firmware. There have been many 'bug' fixes.

These fuser have a problem with the Teflon lube strip drying out and fraying on the side the end thermistor is at. Nothing you can do but put a new fuser in.

As Blackcat has said the feed image PWB is the weak link in these type systems.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

You might also hook up the power quality analyzer ... especially if it's occurring around the same time each day, mornings in particular.

I remember another Kyocera (KM-6052ci) that gave fuser codes between 0530 and 0600 every single morning. The analyzer showed me an (8)vac spike at the exact moment of the code occurred, every time. It was a lawyer's office, and naturally, they wanted me to fix their power issue.

I had to point out that we were not providing their electrical power ... I don't really know who's responsible for that ... the building renting them space? The power company? ... not me.

I suspect that that the power company does some sort of load balancing in the early morning, just before most businesses open for the day.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
