Kyocera ECOSYS M6230cidn no OCR dictionary data

    Hello,

    I have a ECOSYS M6230cidn.

Last week I purchased the Kyocera Scan Extension Kit (A) and installed the license. I have also the HD-7 SSD (128 GB)properly installed.

When I turn on the machine I get the following error "OCR dictionary data is not properly installed. OCR Text Recognition may not be correctly performed".

Can someone tell me where I can get the OCR dictionary data to install it on the SSD?

    Thank you!

Alex, it is contained in the firmware and should automatically install when you perform a firmware update with the SSD installed.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

it seems that I have already the latest firmware on my machine. When i try to update it with the Firmware Upgrade Tool (1.0.7.28) it tells me that I already have the latest version.

Can I force the update somehow?

      Thank you very much!

You should be able to upgrade the "old fashioned" way of downloading the firmware to a USB drive and powering the machine on with USB drive inserted in the machine's USB port.

I would suggest not to use the 'Turbo' firmware version when loading firmware on a USB drive in your particular case. This will force the machine to upload ALL the new firmware.

I always do my firmware updates with a USB drive. IMHO it is the surest way to do a firmware update. Once, and you're done.

I have had problems with Firmware Upgrade Tools to the point it is no longer worth the time for me to deal with them.

          I hope this helps.

On the Kyocera website I can only download the "FirmwareUpgradePackage_ECOSYS_M6230cidn_M6235cidn_ v03.03.0030.fwp" file.

Is it the right one to copy on USB drive?

            Thank you very much for!

Just tried it, does not work

I formatted the USB flash drive with FAT32 and copied the "FirmwareUpgradePackage_ECOSYS_M6230cidn_M6235cidn_ v03.03.0030.fwp" on it. Put it in the printer's USB port and turned it on.

But no firmware update started. The printer just asked me if I want to search the USB for files. If I click yes, I only see the empty drive. The printer does not see this file.

I remember on my old FS-C2126MFP+ the firmware consisted of 4 files. But I can't find such firmware for the M6230cidn.

Can you please tell me where to get the right firmware to flash from USB?

              Thank you!

                  See enclosed instruction.
OCR.zip file you`ll find in the FW package.
After formatting from SSD you connect USb key with FW and went into system menu for installation.

Once the file is unzipped to the drive you must take all files from the folder and copy them to the root then delete the empty folder.
