    FYI J7920 DF-7130

Scenario, Paper is in position to be stapled, stapler in correct position and throws jam code. I had replaced the staple unit, updated staple base and replaced DF PWB, no joy. It turns out to be that the harness wire looked good at the switch but was actually broken. I barely touched it while trying to remove tie wraps to make sure there were no pinched wires and the wire just fell out. I initially stripped the wire and secured it in the holder and it worked. Kyocera doesn't even have a P/N for this harness. They pulled it from a finisher for us. see attached

    Thanks yakyitz. Good catch! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you. Did this seem to resolve your issue? I've been battling the same J7920. I checked the switch you mention and even reseated. Mine seems to be okay.

      Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in responding. (I was off from work). Yes this resolved my issue. On one machine the wire was totally disconnected from the plastic connector housing and on one was just hanging by a thread. The connector itself is firmly connected to the switch, the wire going into the connector is loose or broken.

          Thanks for this post!
You saved me a ton of leg work yesterday. Mine wasn't a broken wire...but, that same switch/solenoid was bound up.

You saved me time and parts.

Well known problem for all external finishers since DF-7110
But if you want, you can help kyo with needed P/N.
Take care for PL from Iris2 or Bulletin 2TJ-0176(N142) from Victoria (TA15000c)

From the bulletin you get modified version/ last digit (1) instead of (0)
