    KM-5050

Having problems scanning large amounts of documents to e-mail addresses on our internal LAN. Error message 2204 appears (sometimes when scanning as little as 5 sheets). Any advice?

Change the [E-mail Size Limit] in [Advanced] - [SMTP] - [General] - [E-mail Setting] in COMMAND CENTER (Web interface).

What B0265 said. Also change to mono scanning instead of color & change resolution.
      2204 Error: E-Mail Size limit
The size of E-mail exceeds its
      limit.
Change the [E-mail Size Limit] in
      [Advanced]-[SMTP] -[General]-[E-mail Setting]

      in COMMAND CENTER.
      Hope that helps !

Tried that. Generally use mono with lowest resolution & still generally can only scan max 15 pages

Is it set up to scan SMB ? I'd think if you get an error scanning to a shared folder, you have a RAM issue.
          Hope that helps !

There may also be size limits imposed by your SMTP server on attachments. If that's the case, then there is nothing you can do on the MFP end to correct that. The size limit would have to be changed or removed on the SMTP server.

Not much that I can add here. 20MB is a realistic attachment size for most email servers, though I've seen a few accept 37MB. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I usually see 10 mb max. But, that's out here in Cali!! LOL
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

You'll really need to check with your customer's IT department to see what the limit is. Until you know that, you're working completely in the blind.

Quite frequently, the limit for internal addresses is higher than what is is for external ones.

It also depends greatly on what type of documents you're scanning. Pages with a bunch of graphic coverage will be considerably larger than text.
