    KM-8030 with blank display

I've got a KM-8030 that only shows a blank display with backlighting on. The machine seems to start up normally but doesn't respond to any commands. It's stood still for over a year and no one can remember if there's a login set for it, so that might be the reason it doesn't respond.

We've talked to Kyocera Sweden but they're just guessing. They did say that they didn't think it had anything to do with the display itself, but that's about all they had.

Next step seems to be to start replacing PCBs, but I figured I'd check if someone here had a cheaper and/or more reliable idea first. Anyone?

Unfortunately that made no difference this time.

I doubt that a U906 partial operation reset will help at all. I think that you'll need an engine PWB. Then load firmware. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks, but that's alright, we're official Kyocera techs here, so I've got all the manuals.

It's now been decided that this machine be moved to another office, because it's supposed to be delivered to a customer in that district once repaired and they have more time to spend on this. I'll forward that tip to them and post back here if I get any updates.

            Thanks.

I guess you already checked the illumination adjustment wheel on the
              leftside of the panel??
