We have a CS-3050 with a DP-700 that will not copy from the feeder. When you put a document in the feeder, it says, "waiting-adjusting scanner." It will copy from the glass, will print, etc. We checked sensors, cables, everything. We then tried replacing the entire feeder. No help. So, the problem is probably in the machine itself. Anyone seen this before?

Check the DP top cover interlock or rear latch. My bet is that the enduser didn't use the handle to open the DP, and snapped off the rear latch. As a test, hold down the DP top cover, power Off/On, then try the DP.
The machine is trying to do a shading adjustment for the CIS, but it won't complete because the CIS is not all the way down against the white reference roller. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You might check for bent pins in the lower DP connector (for the CIS). Good luck. I'll be watching this post. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

We went back and found a paper clip in the contacts on the end of the CIS, which took out the CIS unit, the controller board in the feeder and the scanner board! What a lot of damage a paper clip can do. This is why a new feeder didn't fix it, because the scanner board was also shorted. We will have to charge for a whole new feeder.Comment

That was a costly little paper clip. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Hey
Often you will get this message if your interlock switch on the rear right side of the DP itself, isn't engaging properly, or you didn't put the actuator bracket on the mainframe.Comment
