[Jamming] CS 552ci Jams from Large Capacity Tray (PF-760)

I have a customer with a PF-760 and she says it jams when paper gets low. I cannot get copier to jam. I replaced rollers and clutches in the feed unit and I checked the tab that holds the feed roller bracket down that usually breaks and that is ok. Has anyone had issues with jamming out of the large capacity tray.

After running copier a while I discovered jam is caused by 3000 sheet finisher. About every thousand copies I will get a jam 87. Paper will be crunched in conveying tray of finisher. Has anybody had this issue.

I don't want to sound like KMA Tech Support, but is the firmware up to date? Bulletin 1 addresses this and specifies that jamming will occur if FW is not up to date. Also make sure that all of the options are the (B) revisions. I don't think you can get the older versions anymore anyway.

talked to a kma rep on this issue. they called and told me that the fix is to place paper clips under the metal bracket that hold the paper feed rollers. something to do with the sensors. I tried it and it worked great. you would think after so many years they would get this feed unit fixed.

Even if you could get the old versions of the accessories they won't communicate. The accessory is ignored, and that particular piece of the firmware fails. I've tried, unsuccessfully. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

As a spacer between the bracket and main body? Interesting!
I'm sure Kyocera will come out with some $10 each flat washers just for this purpose. =^..^=

Is that the metal brackets for both pick up rollers in the LCT.

It could be the paper. They are using recycled paper, but this will be hard to convince to the customer that it is the paper because the customer has a CS400ci with the same 3000 sheet finisher on it doing the same volume and that copier does not jam. The jam I did see was in the finisher in the pull out conveying unit crunched up as it was going down in the conveying unit but this happens every thousand or two thousand copies(j87). The CS552ci has latest firmware.
