Blue background on full colour copies. Black & white copies ok and internal prints ok i.e calibration mode showing colour.

Now i'm thinking its got to be the optics with a blue haze or something on the mirrors thats causing this but im a bit stumped. Ive updated the firmware, cleaned the optics, calibrated it, grey adjust and its better but not perfect.

Im going back on tuesday with some clean cloth and glass cleaner to clean the optics and glass to a sharp finish - other than that im stuck.

Its not an old m/c - 6 months old and about 100k max on the clock.

What do your U131 readings look like? Any difference more than 25 points indicates developer unit replacement.

I'll usually try a developer refresh as a last ditch effort to avoid replacing developer units. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

honestly havent even looked into the engine side as im convinced its optics as the internal prints i.e. calibration grey scales come out perfect.

If you put an original on the doc or glass - you get a slight blue haze. I'll have a look at u131 when i go back tuesday as i'll not rule it out.

I re-booked it as my cloth was so dirty it made the optics worse and i also ran out of glass cleaner. Tried tissue paper and anything else i could get hold of but if the optics are just that little bit dirty.... found that to my cost with a 2630 and ordered a ccd for a green haze (dirty optics caused by crappy glass cleaner)

My own personal mix of glass cleaner used to include Vinegar Windex (~10%), and the green dye they use to make it green can, yes, cause a green haze. Just 99.9% alcohol and a clean towel should do the trick if that is indeed the case.

I thought I was the only one that did stuff like that... =^..^=

guess you ran the full 5 page grey adjust under adj/maint? fixed the blue background for me. remember to have 5-6 sheets of paper on top of those 'colour-multisquare-printouts' to prevent the lamp from 'shining through' and get false readings (yes , it's crappy english, but you get what i mean )

done the full page adjust and it made it better but no i didnt put the paper "remember to have 5-6 sheets of paper on top of those 'colour-multisquare-printouts' to prevent the lamp from 'shining through' and get false readings". Never really done that as on the km-c2525 range it was normally sufficent to calibrate it but i'll try that anyway and yes blackcat after that episode my company changed to another brand of glass cleaner as it kept smearing and couldnt give a good enough finish.

At 1 point it was so bad it was pretty much a dark purple/blue all over and after several attempts at cleaning it got better and also adjusting the u068
Adjusting the scanning position for originals from the DP which helped but i classed that as cheating a bit to buy me a bit of time still doesnt really cure it off the glass though.
