    8030 docu8ment feeder jams

I have an 8030 that will intermitently throw a jam 76. It will be running along fine and then all of a sudden the second feed motor that drives the big rollers around the corner to the document glass will stop while the motor right in front of it keeps driving. They are the same motors so I switched them but still get the same thing so it is not the motor.
Has anyone else seen this problem?

Clean the bushings for the large roller and all of the idle pulleys under the feeders front cover. Alot of paper dust and gunk build up and those motors aren't strong enough to drive thhe roller.

Yes that was the problem, I had just started going thru everything that this motor was driving and someone had also put some oil on some of those front drive gear and pulley shafts and they were all gummed up! Thanks for the reply!

That's good to know. Thanks guys. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
