    taskalfa 300ci doc feeder

have the above doc feeder giving out either white/grey sheets or black sheets on single or double sided copying. Works perfect off the glass and internal prints are fine. Ive updated the firmware, adjusted the dp settings but still the problems there so ive now ordered the ccd.

    Any ideas ladies and gentleman?

I would look at the DP connector and reseat it.

Have you looked at swaping the cable that connects the DP to the machine, I've had one an a TA250ci giving strange faults, although not the same faults as you are getting.

Which DP, DP-750 or DP-760? The 750 scans all images to the CCD. The 760 does dual scan with a CIS scanning the second side.

In either case, I think I'd make sure that the scanner is stopping under the slit glass. I think you'll find that the scanner is not consistently making it all the way to the slit glass, and is stopping part-way under the white plate. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Got to be the 750 as it does the second side by reverse and there is no cis which is why im leaning towards the ccd. I've watched the paper go through the slit glass and it doesnt stop/jam and like you said i've adjusted the settings from 1 end to the other but with no change as i thought that as well where the image is being blocked by the frame.

i havent been back to it so i dont know if its been fixed yet. I did order a ccd but someone else went to fit it as its in another engineers area. If i find out ill post the results up.

I will add that i do not suspect it to be the doc feeder as it does not have a cis - it uses the optics to scan so im basing it on the doc feeder being mechanical only and not image reading.
