    taskalfa 300ci jamming

I had a call today for finisher jamming (082?) and want a second opinion. I only saw it jam once, it had ejected the paper then said jam but there was no paper in it. It cleared and then ran fine again.

I don't know these very well but I just assumed the false jam was with the exit sensor. When I pulled out the sensor I could see the black patch below was lit up pretty good from an overhead light. I taped a small piece of paper, 1in by 2 in, on the exit guide near the static eliminator to block the light from the ceiling. I don't know if that will fix it or not.

Can anyone tell me what the 082 means or any common causes of jamming on these finishers?

Aslo, are they for real with that color registration adjustment in the system menu? Is there an easier way?

J82 is a stapler home position error, nothing to do with the paper feed sensors.

There's a lot more to color registration.
If you're going to do firmware (version 11.0) do it before the color calibration. That will take 45 minutes.
You'll do a developer refresh, then color calibration, then color registration, then gray halftone adjust. The calibration takes about 35 or 40 minutes. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
