Is the toner motor working (U30)? There's also and bulletin about replace toner messages.

I've ran into this symptom on a couple of Saturns. In my case it was caused by the toner coupler gear on the back of the toner cartridge not engaging properly with the coupler inside the machine. I found that if you trim the coupler on the toner cartridge so that it looks like " ( ) " instead of like " ] [ " it seems to fix this issue. If that makes any sense...

Went through the bulletin, upgraded the firmware. Turned off the e-mail notification that the customer was acting on for toner empty and toner low, to make sure they were not over reacting on the alert. Been OK for two days now (jinxed it now) will keep you informed

I have had a similar problem on a machine, except the black toner does not show up at all. Nothing in the Status screen, and there is no black bar at all on the Status Report. Does not say 5%, it's just not there! Has anyone seen this, and what is the fix? Do I need to replace that RFID board in the back? It has happened with 4 consecutive toners now, so I'm pretty sure its not the cartridge.

                Metalvoc,
Did you change the engine board recently, perchance? I did this to myself while trying to resolve the early stages of the cleaning motor issues. I had a difficult time getting the connectors to release on the engine board, and had inadvertently unplugged a short pigtail where it passes through the frame to the ... RFID PWB!

On the CS-500ci it was YC26, but cannot confirm if that's the same on the CS-250ci. I can confirm that it's extremely difficult to find any reference to the RFID PWB. It only appears twice in the service manual. The most helpful was the appearance in a wiring diagram.

                Good luck. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Looking back through the service history, I have re-seated some connectors for an unrelated issue, so its definitely something to look into. Thanks!

Thanks for the link Marc. I have had plenty of DLP motors to replace, and have even had to fix another tech's mistake with that exact pinched wire. I had not seen the line in this bulletin that states "Supply toner indication remains on display".

This is something to look at, though the device is printing the black image fine, there have been no error codes, and it is not asking for black toner replacement. The level indicator for black toner is simply missing from the status page.

This shows the problem with Cyan, on a different machine, in case I'm not explaining this very well. (I couldn't find a status page for the device in question)
I'm new to inserting documents, so forgive the multiple links to the same document. can't figure out how to remove them
