    kyocera kmc 4035e

help needed on this weired machine it even has kyocera stumped at the moment.
its enlarging from the doc feeder .from the glass its 100%ok.
i got the adf setup test sheet and it made no difference so i changed the main pwb and the hard drive no difference next i changed the whole scanner unit and you guessed it no difference .i restored the machine to factory settings and it was ok .the customer wanted it set to black as default as soon as i did this it enlarged again only through the doc feeder. it is ok when you use the colour setting or the auto colour setting but on black it enlarges anyone have any ideas please.
    thanks .brian

    Re: kyocera kmc 4035e

Only black & white, only with the document processor ...

Well it won't be the magnification adjustment since sim U070 adjusts DP motor speed for both color & black & white equally. Let me ask you this: Is the resulting image enlarged only in the sub-scan direction, only the main-scan direction, both equally, or both unequally?

If it's enlarged in the sub-scan direction only, perhaps you got some sort of a motor driver problem in the DP. That could be a original conveying motor (OCM: unlikely), the DP driver PWB, or the Scanner PWB.

If it's enlarged in the main-scan direction, both equally, or both unequally, it's an image processing issue. In this case I'd look at the CCD, SHDPWB, and the Main PWB. You can start by reseating all the connectors on these boards, especially:
    YC1 & YC2 on the CCD
    YC1, YC2, & YC3 on the SHDPWB
    YC20 on the Main PWB
Take extra time and care with the ribbon cables. These are often the cause of such strange events and are very easy to screw up.

Let us know what you find. =^..^=

I'm assuming you've already re-loaded the firmware: Print & Main Boot, and Combined.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

So you've narrowed it down to DP, original conveying motor speed, but just for one particular combination.

          What about firmware? =^..^=

I'm agree with Blackcat firmware update could be the solution, I had similar problem with 520i and was firmware update make sure to update both main body and options pack.

How does it look on the 2nd side when doing duplex, if possible on next visit?

Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.

Do you have the correct DP-710 on this machine. The original DP-710 was not compatible with the 4035e and caused the problem you described. The item number for the new doc feeder is 1203J90K10. See page 17 of technical bulletin 1 for the compatibility chart.
