    CS2550 Still the Same!!!

This thing is driving me nutso! Don't know what to do next....new drum, devel.,fuser, rollers and lots of cleaning!

Getting only about the one third (1/3) of the print and it is light. This has simply got to be an easy fix! There HAS to been some little thing I've missed!
If you help me from checking into the looney-bin, I'd appreciate it so much!

    Thanks!

Have you thought about the High Voltage board? I have a fellow tech that I work with that had the same problem. Turned out to be the HV board.

      Charge

I've not seen this problem, but I'm leaning in the same direction. I'm thinking about shorted primary charge.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Transfer roller not seated correctly or missing a spring? I have seen them cause density problems on the falcon series of machines.

i agree with the transfer roller assembly/springs also. i told glen about that the first time he posted this problem. he either didn't read my reply or it didn't fix the problem, but i have myself, seen this exact issue before. it drove me nuts for an hour or so too.

Have you isolated the area of the problem. Did you do a sky shot or all black copy and then checked the drum. If the drum is covered in toner, then the Charge unit is working and the dev unit is ok. Leading you to a transfer problem. As the other techs have said check the transfer roller and pressure springs

                    What up

Hello Ant. Does the machine have a feeder?
Is the problem the same from the contact glass?
Is the copy half light and then blank?
did you all ready post a more detailed description of the problem I did not see one? .....Ant

check the output from the hv board with your meter. Like everyone else im leaning toward the the transfer roller. Alot of times the plastic tabs holding the roller in place will break from slamming the door on the side. thiss allows the springs to pop out but the tabs spin around the plastic roller staying attached.

Make sure that you look to see which spring is which if this is the problem one is black the other silver. They do matter.

Just for the heck of it try flashing just in case some settings are out of whack with the shadeing position and not the shader itself. Software gets corrupted from brownouts and spikes are if you have a weak capacitor on your board.
I want to choke the axxhole who designed this!!!!

Try using OEM toner and replace the developer unit along with it.

look real close at the transfer roller assy. copystar uses a black clip on the transfer roller. only find it in the parts man
i would recommend 302ft93090 transfer roller assy
