    Kyocera/Copystar 500C

We keep getting a Jam code 50 once in the morning most mornings. We have replaced the exit unit, a one way drive gear in the Job Seperator, and the fuser. We have also updated firmware. After we changed out the exit unit it worked for a week and then started back up with the jam 50 code.
Any ideas would be most appreciated!

    Re: Kyocera/Copystar 500C

I had a VoyagerE just last week doing the same thing (J50). It turned out to be a bad/intermittent overflow sensor (the last flag/sensor before the top tray. I took a chance on a sensor out of a used unit, floating around in the back of the vehicle. It started working immediately.

I can't explain why the new unit would act up, but I can understand why the sensor would fail over time. It's exposed to the fuser heat in that location.

The other thing I would look at is the gray driving rollers on the underside of the exit section. The individual rollers can shift off center and start to drag on the adjoining fins. A clue is the gray "eraser dust" in the paper path. Again I can't image a new unit having this problem, but who knows? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Blackcat! We had already switched out that sensor but he had used a used one so we went ahead and replaced it again and so far we have not had another jam code but on this machine sometimes it may take a week or 2 before it happens again so time will tell? Also to copygirl we did have the bulletin and replaced the parts and upgraded the firmware like it said but no help! Thanks for the comment though!

I had one doing the jam first thing in the morning. I don't recall the jam code, but I ended up replacing the job separator & that took care of it.
            Hope that helps !
