KM 3050 tray lift up motor problem

Have a KM 3050 that detects tray 1,detects paper size but the tray motor does not work.<br>Switched motor en switch and paper feed from tray 2 with no result.<br>Did U906 no result.<br>On the display you wil see tray 1,but when selecting this it wil say remove paper and say tray is not avaiable.<br>I can only guess that the engine pwb is the problem.<br><br>

Did you try switching the paper trays and the feed assemblies between the two trays? If it is telling you to remove the paper, it may be that the paper size detection switches are all activated, or the machine thinks that they are. Make sure there are no switches stuck or broken behind the cassette. You might try swapping those one at a time as well.

If you have tried all of that, you could worry about the engine board, but before you replace it, just try re-seating the connectors. I am always weary of blaming circuit boards until I have traced the problem back that far. I have unfortunately replaced more than one circuit board that was perfectly fine.

Check the paper feed feed section. I had a problem similar to that and it was the sensor flag in the paper feed section. It would get stuck and say there was paper.

It's extremely common for a shorting lift motor to take out the motor control circuitry on the engine PWB. Replace both as a set to solve this problem. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

I had the same problem with a 4050 replaced the lift motor and engine board then loaded current firmware. It has been working fine since then.
