How to Turn off original size detection?

With reference to Taskalfa 250i, or Utax 1430 type machines, how do I turn off original size recognition.
In other words no mater what size sheet I put on the glass (or feeder),I want the machine to default to A4.
At the momment if I put for example an A5 sheet on the glass the machine errors looking for A5 paper, albeit giving an option to select another paper size and press continue.

Go into your System Menu, select Copy Settings > Paper Selection. By default, it will be on Auto Paper Selection. Select Default Paper Source. Make sure that your default paper source is your A4 paper cassette. This will resolve the issue of small originals asking for the correct paper source, but the downside is that everything will print on A4, regardless of the original size.

You can also default an A4 original size or other original size. It produces a similar affect, except the auto tray switching remains intact. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Do you recall where to find that in the menu? I have been in the same situation as Fotocom, and was unable to find a setting for the default original size. That setting would be helpful to have.

Try here: System Settings > "Common Settings" Next > Original/Paper Settings > ...
