    FS-1028mfp, C6400 - Fuser reset

    Hello

We have a FS-1028mfp that is coming up with C6400 (Zero Cross Signal Error). I have searched the threads here and found plenty of help for the C6400 on other models, most of which recommend performing SIM U163 and resetting the fuser. I have hunted through the service manual for the 1028 and there does not seem to be a U163 for this model. Is there another way of resetting this?

I dont have a machine here that i can run through the list of sims on the machine.

Customer has tried turning machine off/on, the code just re-appears.

Any help much appreciated and thank you in advance!

The reason for 163 is because it works on most Kyocera models with this error, but it's not on these models.

Normally 6000 codes are all about fusers. I just looked through the service manual and although it doesn't say anything about the fuser the error is still the same as other models. I'd go ahead and try replacing the fuser.

From my experience, any FS series machine has to have the fuser replaced. These are considered in the "printer" line technically & do not have 163. Replacing the fuser is the only option.
        Hope that helps !

They weren't thinking about the engineers when they designed this. The fuser is a bit of a job to take out.On the other hand it may be the fuse in my expierience and you can just pop that off a hard surface to reset it,then your back in action.
