    laser unit KM-8030

    Hi ,

We have a customer with a KM-8030 ,they have already made more than 4.000.000 prints.
the machine works fine but there is one big issue.
We have replaced the laser unit (LK-650B) 7 times, because c4200 en C4120 codes.(resetting no possible)
When I replaced the LK ,I set the 3 values in U472 ,then everyting looks fine an after a couple of months (2-8) the errorcodes are coming back.

    Every suggestion is welcome

I had this problem with a 8030 once. The new laser threw the same code and answer for me was to replace the charge grid. You might want to try that and perhaps the entire charge unit and see if that helps.

Like Geo, I've had the developing bias contact on the imaging frame rear cause this code. Just remove the developing unit and examine the contact at the rear that contacts the end of the mag roller.

Do not use any kind of lubrication on this connection. It will cause light or blank prints intermittently. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Hi,

          Thanks guys,
I am gonna back next week to the customer and check the developer ground.
Hopefully is the 8th laser unit not necessary.

            Watch for something like this:

            Bias Contact1.JPG

There is also a tech pub regarding faulty wiring harnesses, and improper wire routing. Be sure to read up on that before you head out.
