    kyocera e023 scaning code

    Kyocera km6030 e023
This code pertains to smtp server not working,, the smtp server is working???? can someone tell me what is going on? we thought the port was blocked,, nope,, i have tried every smtp server i know that i use, no matter, still the e023. I have scan to file no prob. I set up scan to e mail on a regular basis and ive never encountered this code.does this km6030 have to have a third party software or program besides the scanner utility/address book??
    2) where can i find a read me file
on the scanner utility? ive been setting this thing up on my own for ever, ide like to know a little more about the ins and outs if possible.

Go to the Kyocera site and see if there is a manual to download covering network setup. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll get it for you from their internal site. If I get it, it won't be free but it will be reasonable. Shoot me an email and I'll see what I can do.

      Re: kyocera e023 scaning code

You'll have a problem if this is an off-site email server. The NS30 scan card is not SSL compatible. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

ok that makes sense then, is there a compatible scan card for the machine as a replacement?
        or
should we just go with an e mail third party software program?
        thanks for the info

What kind of network are you working with here? Do they have a server on site and if so what is the OS? If they are using an external SMTP server and they have a server on site, SMTP is very easy for an IT tech to install on a server. So if they have a server AND an IT guy have them install it internally.

            What if they require SSL?

                Re: kyocera e023 scaning code

so the bottom line here is the km6030/8030 does not handle ssl and needs an external program for email in today's age of security? no matter what external smtp you use it has to have ssl,(Gmail, hotmail, roadrunner ect..)
so the solution is to run an email program as a relay to the outside smtp that will do the ssl for the machine.
                correct?
so there really is no solution with firmware update to this nic card.ok.
anyone have an e mail program they recommend that they have used and are satisfied with?
                thanks for all the info.

There's a third party software called "Stunnel". I don't know much about it, but I think it will solve your problem:

stunnel: stunnel - multiplatform SSL tunneling proxy
                  =^..^=
