[CQ] TA 820 very faint copy.

    hi all.

I have an 820 with very faint almost blank copies. looks like charge/bias fault.

ive swapped the whole carrige with another one containing the drum/dev/main charge unit/cl unit etc. copies still the same.

also tried swapping the HV pwb mc and its casing containg all contact strips.
    still same.

all contacts in side look ok.
copy image on drum also very faint, so dont think its transfer.

    no errors occurring during copying.

    any idesd appreciated.

Two additional things to check than can cause faint of blank copies/prints:

    1) Transfer belt idler roller shaft can wear down, also check the transfer roller charge contact.
    2) The mylar surface can wear through on the black inlet guide between the transfer belt assy and the fuser. Replace rear transfer guide (302FB94170).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

can you add toner manually to bring back cq? Had one of these where it was the toner motor that was defective. It still turned but was binding and not keeping up with demand. You can cheat the toner cartridge switch and run simulaton 135 to see if the motor runs smoothly.
