    CS-5501i Time for Maint message

The machine is displaying Time for maintenance. Copy Count is 308k. U250 is set for 600k/tray for 150k. U251 A=308k and none of the 5 trays are near 150k. I cannot figure out what's triggering Time for maint. display. I U906'd it, reset date and time and reflashed firmware with no success. Any ideas?

      Thanks for the nudge Tony.

I think I remember hearing about false "Time For Maintenance T" messages when the installation date simulation is not run during setup, simulation U278. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It isn't the "T" message, but I'll check sim U278.

Sim U278 was properly done. I just checked maintenance report. Seems like a firmware glitch to me. Just checking, how many guys out there have this series with over 300k? Maybe it's something similar to the rom chip update for the 6500i/800i series for messed up counts?

The machine still has to say something other than time for maint. Is there a letter after the message?

Nope, it doesn't say anything else NO (A)(T) nothing. That's also what makes this so maddening. I can't find a clue anywhere as to what is prompting the message.

I'm aiming to, but I don't know how soon I'll be at the account. (Barring any real service calls)

I know this is an old post, but just thought I would tell the solution I had on a CS-3501i for the Time for Maintenance (T) message. I tried all the solutions listed above with no solution. I found in the manual maintenance mode 209. Ran that to confirm the time listed in the system menu, then got a C0840 error. Ran U906 and cleared that. Machine is now working fine. Hope this helps someone else with this problem.

Update. Kyo recently released a new version of firmware to correct this exact issue. Haven't had a chance yet to update the firmware on the machine that is giving me the problem. We'll see.

Could be that it is time for maintenens for cassette as they are set for 150K each casette
