    [CQ] TA 5500

    Hi all,

I have 6 Task Alfa 5500 that have CQ problem. They are dropping toner on the top half of the pages and have background on the lower half of the pages.

We use only Original toner, no compatible. I looked on the KYO web site and found a bulletin on something similar, which included a firmware upgrade, Jan 2014.

Did what the bulletin said and still have the problem.

Called technical support and they said Dev and Drum change. Did this and still the problem. doesn't happen on the slower machine only on the 5500.

    Any Thoughts???

    Anyone else see this??

    Thanks,

    larhal

Tell us a little more about this bulletin. What exactly did you do? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Hey Blackcat,

Please see attaches. It is for a firmware update and in the area discussing the fixes, 2, 4, 5, it describes the issues. followed it exactly.

          Thanks Blackcat,

I have already done this one and used the revised method, New and Improved.
I have also checked everything that is on the trouble shooting guide.

Checked the small transfer belt, etc.

The only thing I am going to try is another batch of Original Toner to see if there could be an issue there.

Going to the customer now, I will keep you updated.

            Hi All,

Tried an new batch of Kyocera Original toner, No issues. Had to do about 50 sky shots and all cleared up.

I guess they had an issue with the toner. Will be sending it back for evaluation.

            Thanks for all your help.

This is a mono machine, so black.

                Sorry I didn't say TA 5500i

                  Yeah, I knew that.

I went off on a tangent. Many of the latest monochrome machines are constructed exactly like color machines without the CMY. And on a color machine primary transfer belt waste is brown colored.

But none of that matters because this monochrome machine is not constructed that way. Ignore me. =^..^=
